The Language Policy Committee of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan implemented a project of speech synthesis (screen announcer) in the Kazakh language in order to expand the scope of the Kazakh language, including the creation of necessary conditions for people with visual impairment. In accordance with Article 16 of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan “On Access to Information” (hereinafter - the Law), holders of information must ensure the accessibility of Internet resources for persons with disabilities. This project provides access to information for people with visual impairment reading text in Kazakh.
